Clemson was placed in a group with Memphis, Louisville, and Penn State.
According to the stats, the Tigers beat Louisville and Penn State, but lost to Memphis. They still won the Group, though, and moved on to the knockout stage of 16 teams.
Here’s a look at the 16 teams, according to the metrics:
- Michigan State
- Florida Atlantic
- Ohio State
- Virginia Tech
The Tigers, according to the simulator, defeated Toledo in the round of 16 before defeating Virginia Tech in the quarterfinals.

World Cup Madness…
Of course winning a simulated, made up World Cup doesn’t mean much, but it’s still interesting to think about here in the midst of the big world event- even if the U.S. isn’t participating.
