The May 29 Gazette editorial “Climate science: Ignoring rising seas,” discussed how denial of scientific facts contribute to the lack of sound public policy to prevent and prepare for climate change disaster. Climate change denial helps explain why global warming never makes one of the top five issues voters care about. Denial is at least half the reason the U.S. doesn’t have a climate protection act. The other half is dysfunctional government.
