I Need Romance is a 2011 South Korean romantic comedy series starring Jo Yeo-jeong, Kim Jeong-hoon, Choi Yeo-jin, Choi Song-hyun and Choi Jin-hyuk. It aired on tvN from June 13 to August 2, 2011 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 23:00 for 16 episodes. The cable drama revolves around three thirty-something career women and their complicated love lives. According to the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board, overnight ratings suggested that 10.7 million viewers were tuned into BBC One from 9.00pm to 9.15pm, the slot in which the Doctor Who mini-episode was broadcast in most regions. This represented the highest ratings that Children in Need had received in eight years.

A short segment followed, in which a prominent person reflected on a difference-making period from his or her past.

Children in Need 2010 was a campaign held in the United Kingdom to raise money for Children in Need. 2010 marked the 30th anniversary of the appeal which culminated in a live broadcast on BBC One which began on the evening of Friday 19 November and ran until the early hours of Saturday 20th. The broadcast was hosted by Terry Wogan, with Tess Daly from 7pm until 10pm and Fearne Cotton from 10.35pm until 2am. Peter Andre hosted from the BT Tower. The show was broadcast from BBC Television Centre in London but also included regional opt-outs hosted from various locations around the UK including Cardiff and Glasgow, viewers in Northern Ireland could see the whole show Live from London for the first time instead of having their own opt out as in previous years instead the Northern Ireland concert was broadcast live on BBC Radio Ulster and highlights on BBC One Northern Ireland the next day with Reggie Yates and John Daly. They returned to Belfast every so often to show fundraising from Northern Ireland but it wasn't a Live broadcast as in previous years. In 2010 contributions fell short of the previous year's fund-raising total. The 2010 event raised £18,098,199 compared to £20,309,747 in 2009.

The show was broadcast from BBC Television Centre in London but also included regular regional opt-outs presented from various locations around the UK. The telecast began at 19:30 GMT and ran for six and a half hours. As usual, the broadcast featured sketches and one-off episodes of British television shows, as well as musical performances from artists including JLS, One Direction and Susan Boyle. The Collective performed their version of the Massive Attack song Teardrop, which is being released as the official Children in Need single for 2011. The final total of money raised was revealed at 02:00 GMT as £26,332,334, with the amount expected to rise over the following days. This exceeded the money raised after the 2010 telecast by almost £7 million.

BBC Children in Need is the BBC's UK charity. Since 1980 it has raised over £600 million to change the lives of disabled children and young people in the UK. The concert was organised by Take That singer and The X Factor judge Gary Barlow as one of a series of events to raise money for Children in Need 2011. It became the second Children in Need Rocks concert organised by Barlow, after the Children in Need Rocks the Royal Albert Hall in 2009.
